US Still Home to Online PlayersWith the crackdown of online slot machines in the United States becoming quite ridiculous – there is a marked attempt by the online gaming industry to distance themselves from the United States and their online gambling customers. The UIGEA is trying to stop all US financial institutions from processing payments to online gambling sites. But it hasn’t stopped employees from visiting online slot machines and casinos according to Scansafe, Ltd. Scansafe is a cyber security vendor who performs a variety of web site blocking and filtering services to big corporations. In fact, the amount of employees trying to access these verboten web sites went up 77%. The new laws signed in by President Bush prohibit banks, etc. from allowing US customers to have payments made to online gambling sites, and the government has until mid July of this year to develop the processing regulations for the banks. Scansafe does not keep track of whether or not those people completed their bets just if they visited the sites. The fact that so many people are still accessing the online slot machines and gambling sites tells you that US residents are still very interested in gambling online.
