Corruption in Alabama?
It would
appear that Alabama is ripe with
corruption these days – and it is coming straight from their
leaders. The Governor of Alabama had created a task force that
was being run by John Tyson to put an end to the illegal slot
machines that are in the state. The Alabama Supreme Court has
stated that the slot machines are illegal and that they cannot
be allowed in the state. However, Alabama Attorney General Troy
King has decided that this law does not apply to everyone.
He said
that he is taking over the task force so that he can decide who
should be raided and who shouldn’t be. He told Tyson that he is
relieved of his duties and that he can turn over any evidence
that he has to him. Tyson said that he was challenging King on
it and that his fear is that if King takes over the illegal slot
machines will be allowed to continue because he is protecting
the “gambling bosses.”
Senator
Bobby Singleton is also trying to shut down the task force. He
said that his residents are concerned about their jobs and if
they are going to have them with the way that the task force has
been cracking down on them. However, others want to know why
they would be working somewhere that offered illegal slot
machine gaming in the first place.
Meanwhile, Greenetrack is open and wondering when they might get
raided. They said that even though the Macon
County
judge said that they are good for now, if Tyson shows up with a
warrant that they are going to allow him to search the premises.
