Ohio
Looking at Slot Machines at Bowling Alleys
The idea
of adding slot machines to the state of
Ohio
seems to be snowballing. They had just started talking about
bringing in slot machines to the race tracks in the state, and
now they are thinking about bowling alleys as well. The state is
looking for ways of bringing in revenue, but they might be
getting ahead of themselves in terms of deciding where to put
the slot machines.
There
are many that are excited about the possibility of slot machines
coming to the race tracks. The race tracks certainly are as they
say that the revenue that the slot machines will bring in will
be substantial enough to take care of the problems that they
have been having. They said that the slot machines will actually
keep their doors open, and will enable them to compete with
those states that already allow slot machines in their tracks.
But now
that they have considered bringing them in, the bowling alleys
say that they want slot machines as well. They argue that with
the smoking ban the state caused them to lose a lot of their
revenue and that they are really hurting as a result of it. They
say that they need something to bring in more revenue and assist
them with their bottom lines, and that slot machines are just
the thing to do it.
There
are those of course that think that bringing in slot machines to
the bowling alleys is a bad idea. They say that if you have
people playing slot machines then you are going to end up with
delays in the leagues – and that it is a bad idea.
