Sands Not Selling

There have been rumors floating around that the Sands Corporation was considering selling their Sands casino Resort Bethlehem. The rumors came from supposed sources that said that the company wanted to sell the casino before they had completed all of the work that they were doing. They are in the process of building a hotel, mall and conference center and they won’t be completed any time soon. They are also planning on adding a retail center and multi-purpose facility when the first phase is done.

However, according to Las Vegas Sands Corp., this is not true. They said that they have no interest in selling the slot machine casino and that they were planning on re-starting construction on their 300 room hotel tower within the “next several weeks.” They said that they are excited by the possibility of adding table games to the slot machines, and they have turned in their application.

They said that they are going to be reviewing the application for table games with the Gaming Control Board and they are confident that they will be able to add the table games to the slot machines. They said that they were going to have to reassess when each of the initial construction projects would be done, and when they would get started on the next phase.

They said it was difficult as the economy and tight credit markets made it difficult for them to move as fast on the projects that they wanted to get done. They feel that things are turning around though and they think that there is a good chance there will be table games and slot machines in the same beautiful location. An earlier report said that they would not consider working on the mall or any of the rest of it until the end of the year, but this no longer seems to be the case.
