Senator Pushing for Slot

State Senator Lou D’Allesandro told the Senate Finance Committee
that slot machines could do a lot of good for the state and that
they should really consider it. He says that there are millions
of dollars in licensing fees that would come into the state,
along with the money that would come from the slot machines
themselves.
D’Allesandro wants the first chunk of money to go to the social
service programs that have been cut by an overwhelmed budget. He
said that the money that initially comes from the licensing of
the slot machines should immediately go to the Department of
Health and Human Services as a one time infusion of money. He
said that the services that this department provides are truly
invaluable and cannot be let go. This bill would allow the first
$50 billion that came from the slot machine licensing fees to go
directly to the programs that needed it the most. His bill
would also legalize slot machines at six locations within the
