Anytime someone starts talking about bringing in slot machines they immediately start to think of all of the millions of dollars that they will be able to make from that casino. They think that the money will be pouring in and they will have nothing better to do than figure out how to spend it. The groups that oppose slot machines think of all of the other ways that slot machines can take an area – like increased crime, increased spousal abuse, thievery, addiction, etc.

But none of this is going to sway local governmental officials who have decided that they are more interested in bringing in up to $150 million a year for their coffers. They know and understand that as long as they have the ability to bring in those slot machines that they have nothing to worry about. They think that local gamblers will be making upwards of 450,000 visits to the proposed slot machine casino expansion that is located in Vancouver.

The city thinks that they just need to expand what they are offering so that they can make more gamblers. They say that they feel that they have the ability to turn almost a half a million of their residents onto slot machines and gambling that may just not have tried it before, or did not think that there was enough for them. They already have more than three hundred thousand gamblers making visits to the slot machines, and they believe that they can more than double that amount.
