According to a recent survey, the number of slot machine addictions has increased over the past ten years. They say that they have seen the number of those that will describe themselves as an addict increase, as well as the number of people that are seeking help from places like Gamblers Anonymous. Experts say that if the trend continues that they will see the increase continue and that the number of slot machine addicts will increase exponentially.

Much of this has to do with the fact that slot machines are made so that you become addicted to them. It is not as if this is news to anyone. However, even knowing this many people sit down in front of the slot machine and try to win, try to beat it – even though the possibility of that happening is very slim. This does not seem to matter, especially to the addict.

However, another disturbing trend is the fact that so many people are turning to the slot machines in order to fix their financial situation. Much like playing the lottery, they play the slot machines in an attempt to increase the amount of money that they have. However, all they end up doing is giving the slot machines their money and putting themselves further into debt. It is a no win situation for anyone except the casinos and the slot machine manufactures. Even knowing this, people still continue to play the slot machines in hopes that they can beat them and win the millions that everyone is always talking about.
