Casino Gets Liquor

The Northern Winz Casino has just finished up its grand opening week, and was awarded its liquor license this past Monday. They had all kinds of opening celebrations, which were attended by more than 2,000 tribal members and guests, and were thrilled to receive their liquor license. Now the slot machine casino knows it can bring in even more money.

The Chippewa Cree Tribe, the owners and operators of the Northern Winz Casino, says that this portion of the slot machine casino is only the first phase. They are also planning on adding a hotel and RV park to the casino. They will be bringing in more than $334 million in gross revenue, as they will be offering slot machines, poker tournaments, live entertainment, food, and now liquor as well.

The tribe says that their Grand Opening Week was a hit, and they signed up people for their player’s club from not only their local areas, but also from places as far away as Canada. All those that joined the players club got silver mugs and white t-shirts, as well as complementary drinks and appetizers all weekend.

The casino has more than 350 slot machines – all of which are Bally Technologies’ brand, poker tables, 10 keno machines, gift shops, security, 120 employees, etc. – all the things needed to make a visit there worthwhile. They also had some drawings and tournaments over the weekend with some very happy winners. The winner of their Mustang was Mario Patacsil, Sr., and the tribe said that they are planning on giving away a 2007 Hummer in the near future.
