Illinois Considering BaccaratIllinois legislators are busy trying to balance a budget that includes way too much spending, and not nearly enough money to cover it. Thus begins the process of trying to figure out how they can make more money. And, as usual, they start talking about expanding legalized gambling. Usually they spend a lot of time talking about it, but in the end they end up cutting the majority of things they had on their wish list. Too many of the legislators don’t want to see any kind of gambling, never mind expanding it. However, if done correctly, they could bring in games like baccarat and not bring down the state in the process. They would need to change the way they have done things so far, but it could be done. Some suggest that they add another casino, and make it a publicly owned one. This way Illinois would actually see some revenue from their slot machines. They
could also allow for more slot machines at the existing casinos,
which would add to the revenue without actually adding more
casinos. They could also make people give up their slot machine
licenses after a period of time, and when their time was up they
would have to compete against other companies to get that
license, and thus pay more.
