Poker Clubs Want Licensing

The UK Poker Clubs Association is trying to get licensed from the UK government. The new organization is a representative of the poker clubs that exist in the UK already, have hired themselves a political activist to fight the good fight. They want the government to license poker clubs and think that by bringing in a ringer they might get that accomplished.

They say that they are actually considering suing the government because they need a change in the Gambling Act 2005, and have not been able to get anyone to help them basically. The new act will go into effect this September, so they have very little time in which to plead their case.

They hired Citigate Public Affairs to help them set about the changes that they need. Some of the things they need is the nominal limits on membership fees that they will be able to charge and how it is affected by those without an actual casino license. The public relations firm has many clients, and the poker clubs are just one in a long line of casinos and slot machine parlors that have used their assistance.

The group is determined to assist those that are opposed to the new gambling act to have a voice – to be able to express the problems that they see with the new act before it has a chance to be implemented. Their goal is to make sure that the poker clubs get the same recognition and rights as the casinos that the UK is bringing in.
