Crackdown EnsuesThe UK’s Gambling Commission has announced that they will be cracking down on those that operate slot machines through supposed loopholes they have found in the law. The Gambling Commission says that it will no longer tolerate these firms that are bending the laws to suit themselves. The industry is facing a financial crisis as more operators are running these slot machines illegally – and many have been waiting for the government to say something to these illegal operators. However, they are also waiting for them to address the crisis that came from places like the seaside amusement arcades that had to remove the slot machines and are facing a financial crisis. The commission told the industry that they will not tolerate “unscrupulous operators” that are trying to get these illegal slot machines, or any methods that they use to get the machines on their premises. They are going to clamp down on those arcade operations that have “the barest minimum of betting facilities” so that they can add more slot machines as well. Many say
that they have to take these drastic measures to get more slot
machines because the commission is going to put them out of
business with the way they are now running things. They say that
they cannot afford to lose any more of the machines or they will
be out of business.
