Casino’s Slot Machines InvestigatedThe Sycuan Casino is being investigated over allegations that they used rigged slot machines. The East County Indian tribe is being accused of operating almost 300 slot machines that had been rigged to operate faster – which would skirt a 1999 compact that requires proceeds to be shared with the state of California. The tribe was limited to 2,000 slot machines, but that is in reference to Class III Vegas type machines. These slot machines pay out more and the players play against the house. They also require the push of one button. The bingo slot machines are Class II machines which means they pay out less and they play against each other. These require the push of several buttons. However, this year supposedly some of the machines were playing faster with one touch play and that means that they are more like Class III machines instead of Class II slot machines. This of course would put them over the limit of slot machines that they are allowed – thus breaking the compact.
