Lottery Going for Higher Payouts

West Virginia’s video slot machines at their racetracks are looking to make more money. The tracks are asking to b able to pay out more money more often according to the recent changes by the state’s Lottery Commission.

The racetracks’ slot machines were informed that the Tri-State/Mardi Gras Racetrack in Nitro could also be offering poker games by August and other types of gambling games by September. This makes the tracks extremely happy as they understand the amount of money that could be made from games like these.

The commissioners voted to increase the max payout for the slot machines from 95% which is where it is now, to 99.9%. They believe that this will make them more competitive when going up against the out of state venues like those in Pennsylvania. They think that they stand a real chance of bringing in more business with higher payouts.

Plus they are hoping to hold onto the current slot machine business in West Virginia that sometimes plays there, and sometimes plays out of state. They are hoping to entice them to do all of their business in house instead.
