Harrah’s Slot Machines Opening January

Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack announced the arrival of its first slot machines on Monday. They received 192 slot machines on the first day, and then on Tuesday they received another 275 slot machines. These are just more of the steps the casino is taking to have the new slots parlor open and running by mid-January.

"It means we received all the approvals we needed at the state, county and city level," said Brian Dolan, director of slot products and service at Harrah's. "It's a huge step and I'm anxious to see this floor come together."

The casino will eventually have 2,750 slot machines, with most of them being the video slot machine type. Only a dozen of the new machines will be the older style slot machines, with the handle on the side and a mechanical wheel.

The horse races at the Chester facility are currently bringing in crowds of up to 1,000 or more depending on the day, and Harrah’s believes that those numbers will greatly increase with the addition of the slot machines.
