Herbst Buys Slot Machine Casinos

The Herbst Company has entered into a deal with the MGM Mirage slot machine giant to buy the Primm slot machine casinos outside of Vegas. The MGM Mirage is spending their time and their money on other slot machine venues, and it is a strategic financial move for the company to sell their slot machine casinos at this time.

Herbst Gaming has been buying up slot machines and slot machine casinos right, left, and center lately. They started in 1959, really just as gas stations, and then started expanding. They own eight slot machine casinos, as well as another 8,400 slot machines in gas stations, bars, and convenience stores. They consider the new slot machine casinos to be the “crown jewels.”

In May the slot machine company agreed to buy the Sands Regent for $148 million, and last year it bought three slot machine casinos in Missouri and Iowa. This latest purchase has put them on the negative credit watch list as they will be taking on much more debt with this latest slot machine purchase.
