No Krasnoyarsk Gambling Zone, No Slot Machines in 2009Deputy-Governor Sergey Sokol announced that if there are no gambling zones in Krasnoyarsk Territory, there will not be any slot machines in the territory by 2009. Sokol said that their administration has proposals already to build a slot machine and gambling zone in the southern part of the region. "We are not striving at this, yet we have got ready proposals in compliance with all the requirements set,” the deputy-governor stated. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has announced a new bill to the State Duma that will only allow slot machines and gambling in four zones in Russia. If the slot machine bill is passed, there will be one area in Siberia, one in the Far East, and two in European Russia. Sokol is concerned that if they are not chosen as one of the locations that they will have no immediate access to slot machines or their revenue in their part of the country.
