Maryland Slots Contest

With Election Day looming everyone is trying to get their last few licks in to try and influence the voters. In Maryland that would be Martin O’Malley who is battling for the job of governor. He is running on a platform that involves many things, but one of the big things is slot machines and casino gambling.

O’Malley has made it perfectly clear that although he thinks slot machines are fine at racetracks, he would not allow casinos to come in. He said that a limited number of slot machines at some of the tracks would be just fine, and that slot machines are just what the state needs.

As a Democrat he thinks he will be able to get the Democratic controlled Legislature to approve the slot machines, something his opponent has not been able to do as a Republican.
