Mihos Supports TracksChristy Mihos wants to put slot machines in at the dog tracks. He thinks that without them the tracks stand a real chance at going under. He says he is not a fan of the horse or dog tracks, but feels it is the state’s responsibility to protect the group. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Mihos was quoted as saying that he didn’t play the ponies, but still thought it was an important establishment to keep. He thinks without the state’s help, they will eventually fold. He does not want casinos, but rather racinos – racetracks with slot machines only. He thinks the four racetracks that the state currently has need to be supported any way that they can, as it is important to the state’s budget – without the racetracks there will be less revenue coming in, as well as hundreds of unemployed workers. By
putting slot machines into the racetracks they would stop the
people of Massachusetts from going to neighboring states. They
would be able to keep that slot machine revenue for the state
instead. Instead of supporting slot machines and gambling with
Connecticut, Rhode Island and Maine – that additional income
would support the racetracks, and by default, support the state. Back to November Index - Slot Machines Fan |
