Maryland
Says Yes for Cecil County
Maryland
has their first official casino site and is ready to start
bringing in slot machines. As a condition has improved a slot
machine license for 1500 games to come into Cecil
County. This is the second license
that has been awarded for slot machines so far, but many feel
that the Cecil
County location will
probably see slot machines before the other.
Anne
Arundel
County
has already received their slot machine license, but because of
various zoning ordinances and problems with locals, they have
not been able to move forward on bringing slot machines in or
even breaking ground. Instead they are caught up in what seems
like and less red tape which is what makes many think that the Cecil
County
slot machines may come first.
There have been two other proposals made for slot machine venues
within the state, but as of right now nothing has been decided.
The state's slot machine commission says that they would like to
have the various obstacles removed before their meeting on
December 17, so that they could start moving forward in bringing
the slot machines and. They said that for those proposals that
are incomplete by that time, they are most likely to either be
rejected or accepted as is as they cannot wait any longer to
make a decision.
The state feels that that gives them plenty of time to get their
numbers in order and to have a good solid foundation for how
they are going to bring in the slot machines to fruition. They
say that residents have waited long enough, and they are ready
to start playing.
