Horse Industry Will See
Benefits from Slot Machines
The
Amendment would go before the residents of the state of The
proposal states that one fourth of the money from the slot
machines, or $100 million, whichever is greater – would go to
the tracks. They say that this is a good plan to help the
industry and keep thousands of people in jobs that might not be
able to stay if the slot machines are not approved. Those opposing the slot machine bill say that if the horse racing industry cannot support itself than they might need to rethink having them around. They say that if they aren’t bringing in enough money to support themselves then it is not up to the state to continue to support them through legalizing slot machines. They believe that the state should move along and let the horses do the same.
