Belleville Gets Slots

Belleville residents have something to be excited about, they are currently looking at getting not only a new raceway, but slot machines as well. The new Quinte Exhibition and Raceway is planning on opening, and bringing with it 200 slot machines.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation wants to take advantage of the slot machines, but not in the same way as residents. They want to do a study to see what effect bringing the slot machines into their town will have on residents. They are planning on calling the area’s residents to see who will participate in the study with them, so that they can see the effect of slot machines on the town.

The racetrack will cost somewhere around $20 million, which will do much for the town as well – by bringing in commerce around the area.

If residents decide to comply with the slot machine gambling research study, it would be the largest study ever conducted, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission is really hoping that people will choose to participate.
