GCEDF Supports Issue 3The Greater Cincinnati Economic Development Fund announced today that they would be supporting Ohio’s Issue 3 to bring slot machines into the state. They also said that they would bring in an additional $100 million over ten years for local economic and community development if the amendment to allow slot machines passes. The group, GCEDF, says that they believe that this is “an unprecedented opportunity to initiate and support critical projects that will advantage our region for years to come.” The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber President Ellen van der Horst said that she thought the agreement was a positive step that supports the community without “losing valuable downtown real estate for a casino complex.” Other council members agreed, saying that this was a great deal for Cincinnati. Even the Sheriff’s department is behind it, claiming that they don’t foresee any problems with the addition of slot machine and gambling. Some say they don’t believe that the deal will really make any difference, but State Rep Bill Seitz thinks that it doesn’t really matter, as any money that it brings in is better than nothing – which is what they have right now. slot machine, slot machine, slot machine, slot machine Back to October Index - Slot Machines Fan |
