Guam Group Pulls Ahead

The group “No on Proposal B” is fighting to keep slot machines out. The group is made up of many of the same people who successfully campaigned against a casino proposal in the last election. They think the public is not well enough informed as to what the slot machines would actually bring in with them, and are spending their time trying to inform voters. The group is working with the church to convince voters that bringing slot machines to Guam far outweighs any benefits that the slot machines could possibly bring in.

Other experts say that the amount of slot machine revenue being quoted is far off the mark. They say they are trying to show that they will be able to bring in slot machine revenue like that which is seen in the states, but experts say that a major difference is that people cannot drive to Guam to play. Therefore they will be limited in the amount of income they can actually bring in.
