National Lottery Signs DealThere has been some confusion as to what will become of the online slot machine gaming that is so prevalent in Trinidad and Tobago. The Prime Minister announced Wednesday that he wanted the National Lotteries Control Board’s (NLCB) online gaming system completely eliminated. Someone forgot to tell the NLCB. The NLCB announced the next day that they had signed a five year deal with GTECH Corporation. The news release from GTECH said, “GTECH Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.P.A., announced it has signed a five-year contract extension with the National Lotteries Control Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NLCB) to provide new online lottery products and services through September 5, 2011. GTECH expects to receive approximately US$78 million in revenue over the five-year extension term.” GTECH supplies online gaming slot machines throughout the Caribbean, and they would now be handling T&T’s as well. They will be giving the NLCB 800 terminals and 400 handheld lottery terminals. They will also be providing other machines as well as support services for the slot machines. So if they have just been eliminated, what are they doing signing a five year deal – the day after the elimination? slot machine, slot machine, slot machine, slot machine Back to October Index - Slot Machines Fan |
