Religious Coalition Formed

In Nebraska, there is an uprising of the religious right. They are opposed to the Video Keno Slot Machine ballot initiative #421. They are upset that people would even consider bringing slot machines into the state, as they are known for their corruption and greed.

On Friday, October 6, not one but two press conferences will be held. They are announcing that they are forming a Religious Coalition to fight against the Video Keno Slot Machine ballot initiative. They know that if they join forces, they can cover more ground than they would be able to do on their own.

They think the voters don’t really understand what is at stake here, nor do they think they have all of the information to make an informed decision on the slot machines. The first meeting will be in Omaha, at the Omaha Press Club at: The First National Bank Building, 1620 Dodge Street, 22^nd Floor. The second one will be in Lincoln at: St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Boulevard. The Omaha meeting begins at 10:00 am, and the Lincoln meeting will begin at 2:00 pm.

This new statewide coalition representing almost every denomination in the state will actively work to inform their members of the dangers that slot machines, the crack cocaine of gambling, will inflict on the families and how it will harm the economy of our great state…slot machine promoters have the money but we have the truth and the Religious Leaders United Coalition will help us spread that truth to every community.”
