Taking a GambleGambling with the Good Life is a group who is determined to keep slot machines out of Nebraska. Others have tried to expand gambling into the state, and so far they have been successful in keeping it out. However, the new Initiative Measure 421 might make it hard for them. The measure says that it will make video keno stations available wherever a licensed keno dealer is located. Firstly, they say that player stations is just another word for slot machines, and secondly, it makes it sound as if that isn’t a lot – but there are 600 licensed keno locations – that can now take an unlimited number of slot machines. Not only that, but even if they bring in these video player machines, they can easily replace the video screen display with traditional slot machine reels as there is no restriction in the measure that says they can’t. With the influx of slot machines, Gambling with the Good Life says Nebraska will also get addiction, bankruptcies, etc. – all kinds of economic and social problems to go along with the machines. Nebraskans will end up spending millions on these glorified slot machines, with over half of it going into the slot machine owners’ pockets. slot machine, slot machine, slot machine, slot machine Back to October Index - Slot Machines Fan |
