We have been hearing a lot of talk lately about the amount of revenue that the slot machines bring into a state, but some say that we have not been hearing the other side of the coin. There are groups out there – each state has theirs – that are fighting each and every day to stop the spread of slot machines across the nation.

They say that it is easy to overlook the amount of damage that slot machines and casinos bring to an area because people are so busy counting the proceeds from them. However, they say that there is a real danger in allowing them to proceed without any kind of checks and balances.

They tell stories of people who just cannot say no to gambling and slot machines, so they move far away from them. However, with so many areas now allowing slot machines in – there are very few places that they can still hide. They want to be respected for their decision to move away from the temptation – yet they feel as though they keep shoving them in their faces.

Many of those in this group are also against online slot machines and gambling. They don’t want it legalized because then they are in their homes. They say that they are fighting against wanting to play and yet no one will leave them alone.

Many of the Christian groups are also fighting against bringing them in. Their argument is that even though many don’t see anything wrong with them that they are a sin and that they are wrong in the eyes of the Church. For those with a real gambling problem, they want people to place limits on them and to keep slot machines away.
