Slot Machines Answer for RecessionMany will agree that slot machines are not necessarily the way to finance the problematic economy that we are all living through, but they aren’t to be ignored either. There is a real need for additional income, and some think that slot machines are the way to make that happen. In Maryland, it seems that for all of those in favor of the slot machines for the additional cash that they can bring in, there are just as many against for the problems that they say the slot machines will bring with them. Those for them say that with an “economy in crisis” that any problems that voters might have with slot machines are outweighed by the problems they will have if they don’t bring them in. In Maryland, as in many states, Governor Martin O’Malley has had to drastically cut back on many needed programs because the money is needed elsewhere. One of the larger cuts that is looming is education, and without slot machines it will surely be cut with the next go around. For those that are against the slot machines, those that are for them say that legalizing them is simply allowing more money to come in for education and other programs that drastically need it. On November 4th Marylanders will have to decide if they want to legalize slot machines or not and there are many that are seriously concerned as to what will happen to their schools if they don’t.
