Revenue DownSo many states have turned to slot machines to supplement their income, and now they are facing a serious downturn in their cash flow. People are not gambling as much as they used to due to the financial crisis facing our country. Pennsylvania is one of those states that are seeing a decrease in their funds from slot machines. In September, the state is reporting that their revenues are down 15%. Their profits dropped from $156 million to $133 million. They had just seen a $5 million increase from July to August, prompting many to say that slot machines were obviously recession proof. It would seem that this was not the fact, but perhaps those that still had money to gamble at the slot machines have spent it all at this point. Experts point out that although this time last year they saw a decrease as well, it was less than 2%. This drop in slot machine revenues has dropped quite drastically. It seems that even slot machines cannot outrun the economy.
