Florida Casinos Getting More Slot Machines

Florida is quickly becoming one of those states that offer all kinds of gambling. First it started with the Seminole Indian tribe being allowed to offer class to slot machines within the state. These are sometimes referred to as bingo machines, but they do not pay out the high amounts that Class III Vegas style slot machines do. Then Broward County voted and decided to allow slot machines at their racetracks.

Seeing the revenue that was now coming in to Broward County, Miami-Dade County then decided that they were going to bring in slot machines. Once Broward and Miami-Dade counties were offering slot machines then the Seminoles had the legal right to offer them as well. So now you have many places offering slot machines across the state.

However the states will soon be offering blackjack, keno, and Roulette themed slot machines as well. The slot machine manufacturers such as Bally Technologies, IGT, Shuffle Master, and Gulfstream Park, have brought a lawsuit against the state of Florida saying that they were discriminating against table themed slot machines.

The Florida state court system agreed and now all these new slot machines will also be able to be offered at any location that currently offers the traditional version of the slot machines. It is ironic that the state legislature has been arguing over whether or not to give the Seminoles the rights to offer table games, and now their courts have allowed them to do so anyway.
