Chester Racing its Way to SlotsChester Casino and Racetrack opened their gates to harness racing and to roughly 10,000 fans Sunday afternoon. The track was filled with fans wanting to catch a glimpse of racing that had all but been forgotten. It is the first racetrack to open in PA since Philadelphia Park in 1974. And for those that don’t really enjoy harness racing, Chester’s Harrah’s has something for you too. They are building a $430 million entertainment complex that will have restaurants, table games, 2,750 slot machines, as well as theatres. They will be open mostly evenings for the racers, but know that they have to have daytime races as well for those that are interested in the slot machines – as the slot machine players are usually a nighttime client. Horsemen are excited as there is already talk of purses growing to be in excess of $200,000 as the money starts pouring in from the visitors. They think they will be able to compete with New Jersey’s Meadowlands if things keep up the way they are. Some are hopeful that they will actually pass the Meadowlands at some point, as they will be able to offer more than them with all of the things they are planning on bringing in with the final casino. slot machine, slot machine, slot machine, slot machine Back to September Index - Slot Machines Fan |
