Does It Matter What They Pay?Whereas it is common knowledge that the Vegas slots advertise all over town how they pay, the Indian tribes like to keep that information to themselves. In Vegas or Reno you will see billboards expressing how much they are willing to give back – signs saying that their slot machines give out more than the other guy’s slot machines, and so on. But not so with the Indian’s slot machines. Some say it doesn’t matter, that no matter how much a slot machine pays out, it is still a matter of luck – there is no skill involved, and knowing what the payouts are doesn’t make a bit of difference. When you sit down at the slot machine, you have as much of a chance of winning as the guy who sat down before you, or will sit down after you. Others say it does matter; that true slot machine players know which slot machine pay better than others, and that this increases their chances of winning. By law, they don’t have to tell you per machine what the payout is, but that it has to be posted somewhere within the casino. Some say that perhaps the Indians’ casinos don’t pay as well and that is why they won’t make it common knowledge. Others think that since it doesn’t matter when you spin, why does it matter at all?
