Guam Greyhound Back in the NewsCome November, Guam’s voters are going to decide whether or not to legalize slot machines at the dog racetrack, and things are not looking good. The Pacific Daily News in cooperation with Market Research and Development and Sorenson Pacific Broadcasting have done a survey of Guam voters. The majority of them say they would not vote to approve the slot machines. The survey showed that 61% of voters would not vote to approve the slot machine initiative, and 31% said they would. There were 938 Guam voters surveyed, and 908 answered the slots question. The rest of the group was broken into 5% not having made up their minds yet, and 2% didn’t have enough info to make an informed decision. The racetrack feels that there is still plenty of time to change their minds, as the November 7 General Election is still fairly far off. They think that if they remind people of how much good it will do to have the slot machines, that people will vote to approve them. They will bring in more income into the island, as well as more jobs. Back to September Index - Slot Machines Fan |
