Keno Wins Place on BallotVideo Keno has won the right to get on the November ballot in Nebraska, but opponents say this is just the beginning of their fight. The supporters are understandably happy, after state officials announced that they had indeed gathered more than enough signatures to get it on the ballot in November. A Lincoln based group that is opposed to the Keno machines has hired an attorney to try and block it off of the ballot. The attorney, J.L. Spray, said that keno is just one more step toward slot machine gambling, and that his clients won’t sit by idly and watch it happen. "We think that this is the introduction of slot machines into Nebraska," Spray said. "It may be a Pandora's box. While some will initially see it as a good thing, it could blossom into what would amount to slot-machine parlors." Slot machine proponents disagree of course. They think that if the voters agree to bring in slot machines, that the local governments will ensure that the gambling does not spread. Their job will be to determine where the slot machine parlors will go, as well as how they are run, etc. Every aspect of the slot machine will be determined by the government in the way that is best for the people.
