Less Employees Means Less SecurityAn estimated 3.5 million children came to Las Vegas last year, and it is the casinos’ fault. The slogan was to bring in families and have people make Vegas be their family vacation. Instead, all it did was bring in more trouble for the casinos. Going to a cashless system means fewer employees to have to watch and assist on the slot machines. It also means that there aren’t enough employees to canvas and police the slot machines either. Children are literally playing the slot machines. They also have teenagers coming in and playing the slot machines as well. Arnie Wexler, head of a national hotline for gambling addiction said, "There are girls who are 15, 16 and 17 who look like they are 25…Girls are driving in for the weekend and walking through the casinos and in the lobbies. They aren't necessarily gambling. They're here for the partying." Statistics show that the amount of under 21ers has raised 50 percent in the last 10 years. The casinos are doing all they can, they try to keep kids from hanging out near the slot machines, and try to keep an eye on them so that they don’t play illegally. There is also the issue of the other gamblers. They don’t want kids hanging around annoying them while they are trying to play the slot machines. The casino operators are trying to keep everyone happy, while keeping everyone else legal.
