Lynn Swann for Governor?

With the election starting to heat up many are wondering just how dedicated Lynn Swann is to becoming governor. He is running against Eddie Rendell, and Pennsylvania’s voters want to throw their vote behind him, due to all of the problems they have had with Rendell this year. He has had a slew of errors, that would seem to come back to bite him, yet Swann has not jumped on the bandwagon to grab those votes yet.

First Rendell had his “good legislation” pay raise. The people were angry, and decided to kick out seventeen incumbent legislators because of it. They also gave a Supreme Court Justice the boot as well. However, Rendell seems to be going strong. Rendell, even with as much as he managed to anger his constituents, is still beating Swann by 19 points. Now Rendell wants term limits for legislators, just to try and make everyone happy – and in hopes of keeping his job. Rendell has also promised that slot machines would bring enough money into the state that personal income taxes would be cut – and yet the voters are still paying higher taxes instead.

Swann, meanwhile, seems to be floundering. His numbers are bad, and he can’t seem to raise any money for his campaign. The Washington Times has called his campaign as “arrogant and inept,” supposedly quoting fellow republicans. Those that have met him on the campaign trail add that he doesn’t seem to be taking the job very seriously, nor does he really seem to want the job. Which leaves voters wondering if they should vote for the guy they already know they hate, or should they vote for the guy who doesn’t seem to care one way or the other.
