Reno Casino Revenue RisesThe Nevada Gaming Control Board has announced that Reno’s casinos’ revenue has gone up. They said that the last fiscal year was a banner year for the casinos, with the first increase in revenue in six years. There have been claims of the area rebounding for some time now, but with this announcement, locals and officials are hopefully optimistic. The revenue from gamblers for June was up, with Reno’s take up 5.9% - making it $774.79 million in fiscal 2006. This also means that it was up from June of last year, with revenue higher than it had been for June 2005. The casinos all across the area showed higher increases all around. The state works on a July-June fiscal budget. In other Reno news, the Gaming Control Board passed a rule that businesses running a slot machine must have an English speaking employee on hand at all times. A small Reno bar did not have one, and has now been ordered to do so, or they will not be able to keep their slot machine license.
