Greektown Adding More Slot Machines

Greektown Casino has added more slot machines to their existing location. The Detroit casino is expanding and with that expansion they are adding in 600 more slot machines for their patrons.

The $500 million expansion will add on 25,000 square feet to the casino’s gambling floor. With this addition, they now have more than 2,600 slot machines.

They expect that they will have 400 more slot machines online at the end of November when they finish adding the VIP room to the casino. They are also adding in other attractions to the casino including a new restaurant and some new lounges.

The hotel that they have planned for the site will not open until early next year, although some were hoping for a sooner opening. Some say that it is a miracle that the casino is adding slot machines, or even opening at all due to the bankruptcy troubles they have been having.

The casino filed for Chapter 11 earlier this year as they had not been paying their construction workers. They are hoping to be out of the woods by next summer.
