Slot Machines Still
Declining
While
there was a time when slot machines were the end all and be all
of the gambling industry, this is no longer the case. It used to
be that no matter what else you have at your casino, as long as
you have slot machines, you didn't have to worry about income
coming in. Slot machines are notorious for bringing in large
amounts of cash to a casino, and thus allowing the casino to do
well. However
once the economy tanked slot machines were not doing their job.
People still play the slot machines, they are just not flocking
to them in the droves that they used to. At first it was the
smaller casinos that started taking the hit, then the larger
casinos started seeing slight drops in their slot machine

double-digit declines in their slot machine revenues. Foxwoods
resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods have both reported a
13.3% decrease in their slot machine revenues. The Mohegan Sun
is showing a decline of 11% in their revenues. They say
that part of the problem is that last year's revenues showed the
Labor Day weekend as part of their revenue take. This year it
was considered part of September, thus making for an even lower
amount of revenue coming in during the month of August. They say
that they are happy with what they have brought in, because it
could be much worse. With
