Hopper Fill

When the hopper doesn't have enough money to pay out a win, a slot player has to request a hopper fill. This is usually signaled by a flashing light on top of the machine, or by a message on the screen of a video slot game that says. "Hopper Empty. Call Attendant."

Since many slot machines have had their hoppers replaced with printers to print tickets with winnings on them, the hopper fill will become a thing of the past soon.
